January is always an exciting part of the year for us tile nerds as the manufacturers are finalising what items they will have in their ranges this coming year, and even some of the new brochures are starting to arrive.  Ca’Pietra are always first off the line, and their comprehensive stone collection is second to none.

We love the extensive range of patterned tiles they now stock.  Adding small sections can be the contribution you need to add some colour and variety to any simple design.  If you fear your choice could go out of fashion in a few years, then choose areas which are easier to change, a splashback or a recess for example.

I have been fortunate to see a preview of an existing Lake District hotel going through total refurbishment.  The beautiful building has amazing views from the new decking over Lake Windermere.  I’m looking forward to having that afternoon tea on a sunny day next summer.  More details to follow when they are closer to being open in the Spring.  We are also currently working with another hotel near Ambleside who have started some room refurbs, and will be the first in the area to be showcasing the new Duravit DuraSquare range of sanitaryware.  Work started mid-December and we hope to have some before and after images to show in due course.
